MUMBAI: The World Sufi Spirit Festival (WSSF) is back in its 6th year with a host of talent from across the world to enthrallmusic aficionados. This edition promises to be a memorable journey; a magnificent evocation of the sacred through the ancient traditions that will enchant one and all. Hosted by the Royal family of Jodhpur, WSSF will kick start on 22nd February at Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur and will culminate on 27th February at Ahichhatragarh Fort, Nagaur.
With the serene Mehrangarh and Ahichhatragarh Forts as the backdrop, these leading exponents of Sufi will showcase an enriching amalgamation of musical traditions that descend from across varied geographical boundaries. This year WSSF will bring forth traditions of the East, Asia and Africa to the rich heritage of India.
Patron of the festival, International singer Sting added, “Music is a language that transcends all barriers across the globe. The mystical state of Rajasthan will witness performances by talented artists from Egypt, Turkey, France, Pakistan, Paris, Mongolia, Afghanistan, Cochin and Lucknow along with the traditional Rajasthani folk musicians, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the state.
