Grigoryan Brothers – Classical Guitar Recital. Australia’s foremost classical guitar duo, Slava and Leonard Grigoryan will be performing at the NCPA this month. The Grigoryan brothers have been performing professionally as a duo for eight years across Australia and the globe. They have released four CDs and have worked with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and The Academy of Melbourne. Although having performed much of the standard repertoire for two guitars, their passion is to expand the classical guitar repertoire through new compositions. Coming from an eclectic musical background, improvisation has always been an important part of their musical language and they often attract a very diverse audience.
The programme will include works by Leonard Grigoryan, Claude Debussy, Edward Grigoryan, Jeremy Alsop, Paulo Bellinati, William Lovelady, Radames Gnattali and Ralph Towner.
