Experience the same magical ambience at Udayswar@Prithvi, an Indian Classical music concert of morning ragas which uses no microphones or amplifications to create a rare acoustic experience. This weekend enjoy the purity of notes and the unveiling of music from within from a violinist rooted in the classical tradition none other than Dr. N. Rajam one of the greatest contemporary exponents of Hindustani Classical music.
On her performance, Dr. N. Rajam says, “Morning concerts are rare nowadays and that too, one without a microphone is rarer still. The interest and enthusiasm of music lovers and connoisseurs to attend morning concerts led Pancham Nishad and Prithvi Theatre both active in promoting and developing the performing arts to come together to present Udayswar@Prithvi, a concert series of morning ragas of the second prahar. Held on every 3rd Sunday of the month this concert series features various vocal and Instrumental artistes. Udayswar@Prithvi is supported exclusively by Bank of Baroda since April, 2017.

Dr. N. Rajam is the pioneer of the revolutionary Gayaki Ang, which highly influenced the whole country to follow suit, so much so that she is now known as the Singing Violin. Coming from a family of traditional musicians, she mastered the Carnatic style at a very young age, and later ventured into the Hindustani style, and made a path-breaking entry through her Gayaki Ang. Apart from being a great performer, Dr. Rajam has also served as a Professor and Dean in Banaras Hindu University for 40 years and has been the recipient of countless awards including one of the highest civilian honours in India, the Padmashri and the Padmabhushan.
