MUMBAI: Since its launch in April, Boxout.fm’s weekly residency at Summer House Café, New Delhi – Boxout Wednesdays – has given people a legitimate reason to step out midweek. Electronic music culture in India is undergoing a rapid evolution over the past few years, and Budweiser is playing a pivotal role in re-inventing how fans experience music in one of the world’s largest growing markets.
Budweiser’s latest collaboration with the online radio station, Boxout Wednesdays is an effort to push sounds of alternative music. The weekly series will now be called Budweiser x Boxout Wednesdays.
Designed to showcase sounds and styles that champion underground culture, the weekly residency is streamed live on www.boxout.fm to listeners around the world, as well on Budweiser’s Facebook page.
Having featured international names like Brooklyn Shanti, Bjorn Torske, Philip TBC alongside homegrown talent like Su Real, Moniker, Frame/Frame, DJ MoCity alongside others, the online radio station also announced its roster for September.
Next month, fans can look forward to acts like Delhi-based producer FILM alongside Canadian musician Deadbeat, Mumbai producer duo two sensitive, world DMC champion and ace turntablist Jon1st ably supported by India’s DJ Skip and on 27 September, console duties will be shared between Sri Lankan producers, Sunara and Asvjit.
