MUMBAI: WOW Awards and Convention Asia is the largest business and recognition platform for MICE, Live Marketing and Entertainment Industry. Happened on 6-8 July at New Delhi Aerocity, 2017 continues its growth story with an anticipated 1200 event planners, speakers and exhibitors from over 22 countries.
There were five groups in WOW Awards Asia, where in the Group C – Event Intellectual Properties, Percept Live Pvt. Ltd. was declared the winner, as the Festival of The Year for Sunburn 10, bagged the WOW gold. Being the largest Live media asset for the youth, Sunburn introduced the concept of dance music to India and it is uncomplicated, as nothing can be simpler than ‘Live Love Dance’!
Twisted Entertainment Pvt Ltd received silver for Enchanted Valley Carnival, and Swordfish Events And Entertainment P Ltd for Echoes of Earth. Thot Media Pvt. Ltd. received bronze for Magnetic Fields Festival 2016.

We spoke to Shoven Shah, Director of Twisted Entertainment, also the founder of Enchanted Valley Carnival. Commenting on the same he sums up, “I am extremely proud that EVC won the WOW silver award for the Festival of the Year 2016 category. Right from its inception in 2013, our aim was to make EVC the largest destination and camping festival, as we host the festival in the luxurious Aamby Valley City. Truly grateful to have the best partners Devraj Sanyal and Universal Music India to grow this into such a massive scale. With Electronica, Bollywood and Pop making it a complete multi-genre experience, we are all set to make some big announcements soon.”
An initiative of EVENTFAQS, the WOW Awards and Convention Asia, was conceptualised in 2009 as the industry benchmark for excellence in brand experience creation and has grown to become Asia’s largest business and recognition platform for the MICE, LIVE Marketing and Entertainment industry. A unique and mega recognition platform, the 2017 WOW Awards expanded to include the entire Asian event industry.
Commenting on the same Sunburn CEO Karan Singh states, “Sunburn 10 was really special for us given the move from Goa after 9 years since the inception of the festival. A lot of effort went in to making the event a success right from selection of the new venue to giving Sunburn fans a curated experience. Not only was it a first for us with the venue, this was the first year that we introduced 31st December as a part of the four-day celebration. We had one of the best artist line ups that the country has witnessed and we were overwhelmed by the response we received from our fans. We’re happy that the efforts were recognised by WOW Asia and delighted to receive Gold in the category. We have aggressive plans for this year and some big announcements lined up.”
