NEW DELHI: All India Radio (AIR) has scheduled various programmes for broadcast throughout the coming week in connection with the Independence day celebrations. Apart from the live transmission of President Pranab Mukherjee’s speech to the nation on 14 August and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address from the ramparts of Red Fort on 15 August, there is lot more planned on-air.
Indraprastha and FM Rainbow India will broadcast ‘Vartaon Ka Akhil Bhartiya Karyakram’ on 10 August at 9.30 pm, a discussion on ‘Parikalpana Se Parivartan (Saansad Adarsh Graam Yojna Par Kendrit)’.
On 11 August at 9.30 pm, Rajdhani and FM Rainbow India will have discussion on ‘India at 68, New Strides’ which will be aired in English.

Rajdhani and FM Rainbow on 13 August at 9.30 pm will broadcast ‘AGNIPUTRA (Amar Shaheed Khudiram Bose ke Jiwan aur Swatantarta ke Liye Unke Amar Balidan par kendrit)’ in the programme ‘Roopakon Ka Akhil Bhartiya Karyakram’.
The President’s address to the nation will be beamed from 7 pm on 14 August on Indraprastha, Rajdhani, FM Gold, FM Rainbow India and Delhi DTH Hindi.
The address by Modi on Independence Day from the ramparts will be broadcast on Indraprastha, FM Gold and Delhi DTH Hindi, from 7.05 am. Rajdhani and FM Rainbow will commence the broadcast with English commentary at the same time with live broadcast of the national flag hoisting ceremony and Modi’s address.
At 2.30 pm the same day, Rajdhani and FM Rainbow India will broadcast a recording of the interview of former President A P J Abdul Kalam.
The same night at 8.15 pm, the Indraprastha channel will have a special newsreel programme by News Services Division of All India Radio.
This will be followed at 9.30 pm on Rajdhani and FM Rainbow a special feature in English ‘While the World Slept’.
Later at 10.00 pm, Indraprastha and FM Gold will air a music feature a Shehnai Recital by Dr. Pramod Prabha Shankar Gaikawad.
On 17 August at 9.30 pm, Indraprastha and FM Rainbow will have a discussion in Hindi on ‘Yuva Bharat Ki Nayee Udaan (Akashvani Ke Vibhinn Kendron Se Prapt Recordings Par Aadharit) in the Vartaon Ka Akhil Bharatiya Karyakram.
