MUMBAI: After belting out songs like ‘My Hero Farmer’ and ‘Dil Se Salaam’, Gurjot S Kaler is back with his third single. The song, titled ‘Bandeya’ stands out in his discography for highlighting a very important responsibility we overlook sometimes, taking care of our parents when they need us.
It is a melodious track that tugs at the heartstrings. It makes for an interesting amalgamation of poetry, art, and a palpable projection of reality. The video portrays the story of an elderly woman who is left behind in an old age home by her son. What follows is an emotional tale of love between a mother and a son.
The tag-line of ‘Bandeya’, roughly translated means, ‘Money cannot buy real happiness. Love and respect your parents’. The track is composed by B Praak with lyrics penned by Jaani. The poignant video has been directed by Arvindr Khaira.
