MUMBAI: After earning critical acclaim as well as plaudits from the masses for this year’s release Veer, music director duo Sajid Wajid have now received an appreciation letter for the music of the film from Khalid Mahmood, MP from the House of Commons, Westminster, UK.
The minister sent the letter of appreciation talking highly of the music of the film and has even invited Sajid Wajid to House of Commons to honour them in the presence of Parliamentarians.
I must tell you after listening to your wonderful music of the film sound track â€?Veer’, I can’t stop listening to it again and again. I am amazed by the quality of the music and would like to express my pleasure at the sound track of the film,… Mahmood wrote in his letter.
I am deeply moved by the excellence of your performance and caliber of your art; I think the fusion of both British and Indian artists has worked tremendously well on the sound track CD.
I would like to invite you to the House of Commons on your next visit to UK to honour you in the House in the presence of Parliamentarians . Well done once again,” read the MP’s letter.
Explaining their excitement over the appreciation letter, Wajid says, “It is an honour to be appreciated by people from not just from your fraternity and country, but from people from all corners of the world. It is a great feeling when your work gets recognised across the globe.”
He further adds, “It has also opened the doors for us and we would definitely like to showcase more of our music and work with musicians from there.”
The duo also has their hands full with several projects lined up for the year. Warner Bros’ Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai directed by Milap Zaveri starring Riteish Deshmukh and Jaqueline Fernandes. The music of this film is slated to release by April end. UTV’s Peter Gaya Kaam Se staring Rajeev Khandelwal is another project on the anvil. The duo are also scoring the music of Salman Khan starer Arbaaz Khan produced Dabang. “We have recorded four songs for it and two more songs are to be recorded. He further adds, “We are most likely to score the music for Partner 2, since Partner was such a big hit.”
The duo also plan to launch an album. “Cutting a private album is something which is on the cards. We have given several hits and it is the right time to take out an album. We would start working on it soon.”
