MUMBAI: American radio / television personality Ryan Seacrest has renewed his deal with Fox Network to host American Idol for the next two seasons.
According to the contract, Seacrest will remain as a host of the musical competition series for its 12th and 13th seasons at a salary of $15 million dollars a year.
Speaking about the deal Seacrest said, “For the last 11 seasons, I’ve had the privilege to be a part of one of television’s most iconic shows. It’s been a wild ride, and I’m excited for my journey with American Idol to continue. I especially appreciate the support and confidence of Peter Rice, Mike Darnell and the entire FOX team – as well as the support of everyone at FremantleMedia North America – and I look forward to continuing our partnership.”
Seacrest has been part of American Idol since its inception in 2002. The show has recently modified its judging panel which now comprises of American bassist, singer, record producer Randy Jackson, popstress Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler.
The reality talent show has discovered several renowned artistes including Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze and Scotty McCreery.
