MUMBAI: Rock and metal music lovers can look forward to a frenzied evening of live performances by four head-banging heavy and death metal bands in Mumbai at the west end of Bandra. On Sunday, the 26th of December, from 5 pm to 10 pm, the west end of Mumbai in Bandra will explode with Rockfort 2010, which will showcase four bands, two of which are favourites amongst music lovers, while two are new, raw bands itching for the arclights for their powerful music. The 10-year-old Demonic Resurrection and the equally well known Bhayanak Maut will lead the other two relatively unknown and raw bands, Devoid and Bloodshed, in a power-packed musical evening that should make the last Sunday of the decade a memorable one for rock and heavy metal music lovers.
This is the first edition of Rockfort, which has been created and produced by Queen’s Entertainment, who plan to take it to Delhi, Bangalore and Sikkim in the near future.
Says Renuka Malvankar, Head – Queen’s Entertainment, Rockfort is an effort to encourage the existing and upcoming Indian Rock bands amongst the youth of today. The core objective behind this particular concept is to promote Indian Rock bands and work towards the great Indian potential in Rock music. We have chosen four different bands this year and look forward to expand the platform to an even larger scale in the coming years….
On the promotions of Rockfort 2010, Malvankar says, We are using all possible media vehicles. We have VH1 as our channel partner, which is airing our promos for the event, while the radio spots are on a high with Radio One 94.3 FM. Our outdoor promotions are being driven by DSN and Bright.
