MUMBAI: After years of breaking barriers as a fan and a professional, Bollywood enthusiast Harshita Vaishnav has launched ‘The Fangirl Show’, a first-of-its-kind podcast where fans take centre stage.
A passionate admirer of Bollywood, especially Arjun Kapoor, Harshita’s journey has been anything but conventional. She has constantly battled the stigma against fangirling in the professional world. Feeling caged by the restrictions placed on her passion, she made a bold decision—to walk away from the corporate structure and embrace fandom on her own terms.
For the past eight years, she has been a consultant, building her dreams without fear of judgment. Now, with The Fangirl Show, she is creating a platform where fans are the real celebrities—because, as she believes, every fan has a story worth telling.

Harshita says, “People judge fans. They think being a fan means you don’t have a life of your own. But how cool is it to be recognized by the person you admire? That’s something to be proud of, not ashamed of.”
Her bond with Arjun Kapoor, whom she has known since his Ishaqzaade days, is proof that fandom can be meaningful and fulfilling. “i feel Arjun is the most misunderstood celebrity, but the Arjun I know is one of the kindest people in the industry. He has always been there—people change, but he never has,” she shares.
Beyond celebrating fandom, Harshita has a bigger vision—reviving the passionate Bollywood fandom that once thrived in the Salman-Shah Rukh era. She also wants to help fans from tier-two and tier-three cities experience their dreams, just as she did in Mumbai.
Adds Harshita, “I was lucky to be in Bombay, where I could turn my dreams into reality. But I want to help fans across India meet their favourite celebrities. If I could do it, why can’t they?”
