MUMBAI: Whether Ram Gopal Varma succeeds to scare audiences with his latest offering is questionable but they are sure going to turn panicky after giving the background music an ear
RGV’s films are known for their background score but the backdrop in this one composed by newbies Dharam and Sandeep are sure to damage your ear drums. They are highly dramatic dominating the actors but still fail to play any role in the narrative. Although it does manage to mount suspense in bits and parts, it falls flat at most places
The first shot of the movie starts with a dark loud music and is just a beginning of endless deafening score that’s lined up. The filmmaker seems to have thrusted the work of scaring the audiences to the music department and they go overboard till the end. The musicians fail to create background themes for instance much could have been done in the forest scenes but is left unattended

After being subjected to the torture for more than two hours, it comes as a respite that the movie thankfully didn’t have any song. But RGV is probably the only filmmaker who can make a â€?Bollywood’ movie without songs. His last few releases Sarkar, Phoonk Sarkar raaj are testimony to this fact.
Although supposed to be a horror flick, the movie has hilarious moments (typically Bollywood horror movie style) like the possessed doll spinning a well built tantrik, the perpetually scared maid, ghastly makeup of the lead actress after being possessed, ghost resurfacing in an inverted spiderman style to list a few. The director wastes endless footage on aimless shots throughout the movie and all this while, there is ear ripping music tormenting our ears
Although Ramu is known for his loud music, it cannot be denied that he pays special attention to the background score in his works including Rann, Sarkar raaj, Bhoot, Kaun to name a few. Sarkar Raj as a matter of fact became the first film in the history of Bollywood to have a background music launch. It therefore arouses the question as to why RGV roped in Sandeep- Dharam this time and miserably failed to captivate the audiences.
