MUMBAI: French composer Ludovic Bource won the Best Original Score for his silent film ‘The Artist’ at the 84th Academy Awards.
This was Bource’s first nomination at Oscars, as well as the composer’s first major international film. In the 100 minutes of ‘The Artist’, Bource’s music touched a lifetime of sounds ranging from Bollywood melodicism to noir-like diversions. He has earlier won the Golden Globe for his composition, and has also received nods at the Bafta and Cesar Awards.
In the other categories, The Best Original Song Oscar was bagged by ‘Man or Muppet’ from ‘The Muppets’ while ‘Hugo’ picked up two awards for Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing.
