MUMBAI: American rapper Lil Wayne is planning to take break from music and concentrate on skateboarding.
“Being me, I always feel like I ain’t done nothing (sic) yet, so I’m always looking for the next thing to do. It does get pretty boring when it comes to just the rapping and all that type of stuff. I’ve been doing it since I was eight and I’m about to be 30 in September…” Wayne told a radio station.
However, he is not completely disappearing from the scene, as he has confirmed the release of his Dedication 4 mix tape with Drama by mid-August.
The hip-hop star admitted of being fed up of rapping and fears losing his fans if he doesn’t disappear from the music scene for a while.
Lil Wayne has sold more than 10 million records in a decade and earned eight Grammy nominations for his multi-platinum 2008 album. He has been rapping almost nonstop for the past 22 years and put out his own mixtapes, LPs and singles. He has been a guest on other tracks, a producer on other albums and a manager to other stars as well.
