MUMBAI: Legendary singer and composer Lesle Lewis, who created Coke Studio India, introduced Bollywood remix, created classical fusion Colonial Cousins, created IndiPop and is also a music director for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has now launched Folk Fusion to tap the global platform.
The singer performed last year at Paddy Fields Music Festival and this year has done 10 songs for them with different folk artists.
Speaking about his album which is not yet released and still in the making, he said: “Currently I am also working on my own album which is in the genre of folk. I will be taking it to the level of Colonial Cousins. Last year I took Indian classics to global platform and this time I am taking folk to a global platform.”

He also expressed his joy of working with different folk artists, adding: “It’s amazing that I am performing with folk artists from different states and travel all over the country like Punjab, Rajasthan and Ranchi. It is so rocking and modern music-wise that we can even play it in the club though it is fully folk.”
The singer is also excited about the upcoming Paddy Fields Music Festival that will take place on 7 and 8 October. He said, “I was involved last year with them and I would recommend people to attend this year as women are taking over the centre stage this time. Paddy Fields along with BigFM have come up with a show called Big Music High Way where they present a new folk artist every Sunday with RJ Siddharth. I am so glad that I have done about 10 folk artists for them.”
