MUMBAI: Jubin Nautiyal, who sang ‘Meherbani’ from ‘The Shaukeens’, has provided vocals for the track ‘Zindigi Kuch Toh Bata’ from the film ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. The Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer has music composed by Pritam and lyrics penned by Neelesh Misra.
“After ‘Meherbani’ I started getting a lot of calls from various music composers to sing for them. One fine day I got a call from Pritamda’s studio and they informed me that, they wished to record a song with me. I went to the studio even though I was unwell, and somehow I recorded the track. By the end of the recording I asked Pritamda if I could re-record the song, after feeling better and he immediately agreed,” said Nautiyal.
This marks the first time that Nautiyal has worked with Pritam, and he says one of the biggest things he learnt from the composer was giving his best all the time. “While I was recording the track, he told me leave no scope for mistakes and make the maximum out of the opportunity that you have got,” Nautiyal revealed.

So I am very excited to be a part of the film,” he further added. Pritam and Nautiyal will soon be collaborating on another project, which is under the wraps.
Nautiyal revealed that his interest in music came when he was in standard tenth, and he was certain of making music his career. Through a series of contacts, he also managed to meet AR Rahman in Mumbai. “I still remember that moment when my mother and I met AR Rahman, and I performed a song in front of him. He praised my tonal quality as my voice was not developed fully. He just told me to keep learning music from the right people,” he reminisced. Following Rahman’s advice, he went to different places like Banaras and Chennai to learn music. Nautiyal shifted to Mumbai a couple of years ago from the city of Dehradun.
Apart from AR Rahman, Nautiyal said he wants to work with Amit Trivedi and many other composers.
