MUMBAI: Oscar winner A R Rahman, the man who redefined contemporary Indian music launched the theme song for Commonwealth Games 2010, the track which might be the next sensation after his own Jai Ho and Shakira’s Soccer World cup song Waka Waka.
The Group of Minister (GoM) on the Games approved the song at a meeting on Sunday after it heard the rendition of the song, media reports.
GoM has finalized the theme song. A R Rahman will give final touches and it will be presented before the people in 10 days. We discussed the theme song among ourselves in the presence of Rahman, film director Shyam Benegal and producer Bharat Bala,… revealed Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy who heads the GoM.
With just 48 days to go, everyone unanimously voiced the priority is to makes the games a success. Rahman himself requested everyone to give a positive image of India to the world
