MUMBAI: American record label company owned by Warner Music Group, Elektra Records, announced the appointment of Gregg Nadel as the General Manager of the company. The position was created for Nadel to carry out marketing activities from New York City. He will report to LA-based Elektra president Jeff Castelaz.
Nadel most recently held the role of SVP, A&R and marketing at Atlantic Records, where he had worked for 18 years. He joined the company as an assistant in the A&R administration department, soon after completing college. Since then, he has been in the A&R hierarchy and was responsible for signing names like Zac Brown Band, O.A.R., and Grammy nominee Sturgill Simpson, amongst others. Atlantic chairman and CEO Craig Kallman said, “It has been wonderful to watch the arc of Gregg’s career over the past two decades. He has literally grown up at this company, becoming one of the most accomplished execs in our business.”
Kallman further said, “Gregg’s rare combination of great ears and tremendous marketing instincts make him the perfect choice to join Jeff Castelaz in building the new Elektra for a new era.” In the past, Nadel drove campaigns for Ed Sheeran and Coldplay, which display his expertise on A&R and marketing. In addition, Nadel founded his own imprint within Atlantic, ‘F-Stop Music’, whose roster includes Vance Joy, Brett Dennen, and others.
