MUMBAI: Delhi-based band ‘Soul’d Out’ will pay a tribute to American guitarist and singer-songwriter Jimi Hendrix at Hard Rock Café on 26 April in Delhi.
The gig will feature some of the popular tracks performed by the American legend. The five-piece band comprises of Abhijit Sood (Drums), Bhaanu Mendiratta (Guitars), Chetan Awasthi (Vocals), Sajal Sharma (Bass) and Abhay Sharma (Saxophone).
Formed in 2011, the band incorporates various genres like grunge, blues, blues-rock, soul, rock ‘n roll, funk and R&B.
Born in 1940’s, Jimi Hendrix was considered as the greatest electric guitarist in music history and one of the most influential musicians of his era. After initial success in Europe with his group ‘The Jimi Hendrix Experience’, he achieved fame in the United States following his 1967 performance at the Monterey Pop Festival. Later, Hendrix headlined the iconic 1969 Woodstock Festival and the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival.
