MUMBAI: Taking further the association with music, Barista Lavazza is back with its fourth edition of ‘Friendship Jam 2012’. The jam and jive annual event commenced from 15 July across Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata.
The singing competition invites performers to play the guitar (compulsory) and sing a song of their choice, in any language or genre. The top performing bands from the four cities will compete in qualifier rounds for the finale scheduled to be held on 5 August. The winning band would get an opportunity to open for a celebrity band and also be judged by renowned bands like Half step down and Cactus.
Speaking about the initiative, Barista Lavazza India and SAARC COO Nilanjan Bhattacharya said, “Friendship Day evokes the feeling of nostalgia and helps one reminisce about the special days and moments spent with friends. While refreshing our memory about our ‘best’ days during school, college and after study days, it brings a smile on our face. At Barista Lavazza, we are glad that we are able to create and provide a platform such as the ‘friendship jam’, which gives our guests the opportunity to come together with their friends and enjoy the same through two binding forces of music and coffee. We are confident that this year’s friendship jam, with celebrity band performances, will be enjoyed and remembered for years by our guests and their friends.”
The fest allows participants to upload and share their music videos online on official Youtube page. The participants can register at Barista Lavazza outlets in their city or through online registerisation on official page of facebook and twitter.
