MUMBAI: Texas-based music composer and singer Ayaz Ismail has just released his independent single titled “Chal Ranjheya”. While the rest of the world was dealing with the pandemic last year, Ayaz Ismail was doing what he does best: entertaining his fans and following his passion for music. He released about 6-7 tracks in 2020, with the likes of the supremely talented Mohit Chauhan, & popular lyricist and director (Bulbbul, Netflix) Anvita Dutt. A few of his other songs were penned by Kunaal Vermaa.
Chal Ranjheya is penned by Seema Saini, winner of the Mirchi Music Awards for Critics’ Choice Upcoming Lyricist of The Year 2008 and has also penned songs for the upcoming Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor starrer Bell Bottom.
Last year Ayaz had also started a one of a kind studio, for K-12 learning, and Music & Instruments training. For talented students without the means to pay for the course, Ayaz has given out heavy discounts.

Chal Ranjheya is based on his original story wherein the lead is thinking about the time when he was in a relationship with a girl who ends up ditching him for another person. The protagonist in the music video, portrayed by Ayaz is revisiting the past and thinking about everything that had happened, from the beginning of his love story to it’s end. The female lead is played by Shivani Kadam.
“The song actually displays progression, wherein the relationship aspect of the story was shot 3 years ago to make it as believable as possible”, says Ayaz about the song. He has had this idea for a long time, and adds, “I really wanted authenticity in the video and that is why the portions have been shot seperately, in different years.”
Additional Comments by Ayaz: – Chal Raanjheya visualizes instruments as human emotions. It carries out the vibe of sarangi, the feel of acoustic guitar, the tone of nadaswaram, and the rhythm of Tabla, Dholak, and other Indian percussions. The deconstruction of Chal Raanjheya derived from a personal story, the strong emotions, the imagery balance of love and the metaphorical lyrics. Each word in Chal Raanjheya was a reflection of a fairytale constructed around us. The dark side of the romance, rather subtle romance, but with purity and pain. The lines “Yaadon Ki Peti Vich” reminds us of our strong relationships we had in past, cherishing those memories, remembering those crazy times, the college days, and the theatric act of expression. The whole vibe of Chal Raanjheya was constructed for this personal fairytale of mines. Seema has written beautiful words. I did express my journey with her, and I was quite emotional as I was narrating the story. She truly has decorated the words beautifully. The Mix of Chal Raanjheya literally had 13 versions. I was literally loosing ears to the song, as I was orchestrating this journey from music production to the final mix. I went back & forth with (Raaj Jagtap) who has supervised my mix, and Donal Whelan (mastering engineer from UK). Donal was kind enough to make changes and give suggestions as I was loosing the sound design aspects to the song as it was a continuous process. Therefore, the sound was achieved. I was really particular about the Mix as I wanted to bring out the emotions from various instruments. Arun Solanki (Rhythm Arranger) Dilshad Khan (Sarangi) D. Bala Subrahmani (Nadaswaram) have done a fantastic job in designing Indian sounds in their respective parts in the song.
