MUMBAI: Oxford Bookstore, Mumbai hosted an exclusive live music performance Don’t Kill Live Music… by Adam Avil, a renowned singer and stage performer. Adam enthralled all with his scintillating unplugged performance and his endeavour to promote live music performances. â€?Don’t Kill Live Music’ is a part of a campaign against the high entertainment tax levied by the Government on live music performances.
The musical performance was followed by a discussion with the music lovers present at the show about stage performances and how the high entertainment tax is affecting the industry. Many singers and performers have lost their jobs recently because of the very high entertainment tax by the Government on live music performances at hotels, smalls pubs and restaurants. Termination of contracts by the management of these pubs, restaurants and hotels have left many budding singers and performers jobless.
About Don’t Kill Live Music: Don’t Kill Live Music is a Campaign against the very High Entertainment Tax on Live Music. Many Local Musicians Have Lost their Jobs from 5 Star Hotels and Small Pub/Restaurant, Contracts have been terminated. The campaign is an appeal to the Politicians and law makers to understand that music only inspires and brings people together. Music brings in Love and Harmony in everybody’s life and it would be a crime to kill this art form by passing such amendments.
