Zee Live’s latest live music effort features Indian and international artists

MUMBAI: Apart from the usual parameters to judge the growth of the ‘scene’ on a regular basis – like increase in number of venues, nightly performances and independent labels – the innovative ways in providing ‘live music’ content continues to remain the a refreshing encouragement to the artists and fans alike. Joining the wagon concerning the alternative music market is Zee Live’s latest initiative ‘Baleno Wicked Weekends’.

Providing a unique element offers fans (and venues) strong reasons to support the initiative, and Baleno Wicked Weekends carries one such distinctive aspect. Spread across six cities, Baleno Wicked Weekends will travel to 40 different venues, thus ensuring itself as one of the longest marathons ever executed by a live music IP. The concept involves never returning to the same venue for the current edition, and begins in Mumbai on 30 September. For the Mumbai gig organised at newly opened outlet by Raasta, the performers feature electro-funk duo Madboy/Mink and another city-based electronic act Nicholson.

The usual practice allows the live IP creator to charge the attendee for a dedicated entry fee, however, the Baleno Wicked Weekends would let the fans attend the shows on the venue’s entry policies and charges. For example, the upcoming show at Raasta would be free for the attendees.

The forty-weekend long initiative begins on 30 September in Khar, Mumbai, followed by popular Romanian House producer Akcent’s performance on 15 October in New Delhi’s Tamasha, will end in the second half of 2017.

Living Foodz is the associate partner for the initiative.
