Udaan- Reach for the Sky – Indian Music

Udaan: Reach for the Sky – Indian Music. Presenting Young Talent in Indian music.

Presentation: Aashay Kulkarni (Tabla). Anindita Deb (Vocal). Mahathi Kishore (Keyboard).

Be it sports or arts, the potential of children to acquire new skills and ‘perform’ is of-ten underestimated and remains unutilised. With proper awareness, exposure, moti-vation and training, many young children can express their potential to the fullest.

This Children’s Day, we are launching a new series with three gifted children (below 14 years) who have had the benefit of early training in Indian Music. The first of these performances will feature child artistes Aashay Kulkarni, Mahathi Kishore and Anin-dita Deb.

Aashay Kulkarni began learning the tabla at the age of four, from Rajaprasad Dhar-madhikari in Kolhapur. He then trained under the tutelage of Talyogi Sureshji Talwal-kar. He has performed across the country as well as on television. He is currently in Std. IX.

Born on 23rd June 1995, Anindita Deb joined ITC SRA as a Junior Scholar in 2009, where she currently trains under Mashkoor Ali Khan. Her earlier training was under Rashid Khan and Jainul Abedin. Anindita has performed at Agartala.

Mahathi Kishore has the credit of being the youngest musician to have performed at a full-length evening prime time concert for Kapali Fine Arts, Chennai during the De-cember Music Festival of 2007 and 2008.
