This charming story, beloved of children and adults alike, tells the story of the incorrigible and lovable Toad who is perpetually falling in love with every new invention that he sets his eye on! First it is a boat, then a cart…and then a MOTOR CAR! Poop-Poop… says he as he wanders in a daze, crazy for his new love. His River Bank friends, Mole, Rat and Mr. Badger try and help him get over his infatuation, but to no avail.
Finally his beautiful home Toad Hall, is taken over by the Weasels, Ferrets and Stoats from the Wild Woods. And this proves to be a wake up call for Toad. Songs, humour and adventure infuse the play, as the River Bank friends war with the Wild-Wooders to retrieve Toad Hall for Mr Toad.
This is a production by the Theatre Lab, an experimental theatre class and space for children, where they learn the art of theatre production while learning team work and coordination. The children do everything, develop scenes, sing, act, dance and even make their own costumes. This is the first time that children will be producing this play originally by A.A. Milne, the creator of Winnie the Pooh.
