MusicUniv presents ‘The Universe of Sound – 2011’ (Edition 3).
The Universe of Sound is a 3-day festival presented by MusicUniv, featuring some of the top names in the musical milieu talking to audiences in a facilitative, interactive forum. They will present their art and discuss their process. Further, the idea is to present a festival that showcases talent in a way that will be assimilated and appreciated both by students and children and by the music rasika. Accordingly, a third of our seats have been reserved for children studying music in one of our participating schools and students of music/dance from eminent institutions such as Kalakshetra.
Each day focuses on one of the three basic aspects of music – melody, harmony and rhythm. Each day will feature an artist of the highest standing from different genres (Hindustani, Western Classical/Contemporary and Classical Dance) in a lecture-concert format, followed by a discussion led by a prominent Carnatic vocalist. The programme presented by these artistes will be interspersed by performances by children as well.
