Technodrome Tour Day 2 – Oliver Huntemann, BLOT!
Oliver Huntemann is a German electronic music producer and DJ who has been a scene pioneer for over a decade. Huntemann is also the man behind massive dance labels Confused, Ideal Audio and Dance Electric as well as the concept series Rekorder with Stephan Bodzin. Huntemann has to his credit productions and remixes for some of the biggest names in electronic music, including Depeche Mode, Underworld, The Chemical Brothers and an extremely successful collaboration with Dubfire (Deep Dish).
Huntemann creates his sets entirely live, and in full view of his audience on the Reactable system. It is essentially a circular table that ‘reacts’, using cameras positioned at the bottom, to the placement of various blocks on its surface. The genius of the Reactable is that it transforms the live performance of electronic music: when hooked up to the musician’s laptop, manipulation of the blocks alter tempo, timbre and pitch, allowing an audience see exactly what movements are making the sounds they hear.
Huntemann will perform his critically acclaimed album, Paranoia, on this tour.
