NEW DELHI: Ace singer Shaan and Mika donated Rs 2,00,000 for a cause supporting the girl child on Sony TV’s popular reality show Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega. The entertaining reality show is in its finale week and the singers made their presence felt by generously donating money for a cause.
Talking about it the melodious singer Shaan says, “It was Mika’s initiative actually he decided to give the contestants 21,000 and hence I also got inspired. I was particularly impressed by the sand artist Mr. Harikrishna and the girls who performed a skipping act through the fire. They were the prime contenders but couldn’t make it to the next round and this was our way to encourage them.”
Mika who has been running a NGO named Divine Touch’ which supports girl child, further elaborated saying ,”For the last 15 years I have been doing some social work but four years ago I decided to start an NGO to help girls who are poor, cannot afford education or have problems during marriage. I contribute 10 per cent of my earnings to the organisation. When I went on the sets of EKLKBK I had not planned to donate money, but I was so impressed with the performances that on the spot I decided to gift the money to encourage them. Even Shaan decided to be generous and donated Rs 51000 from his pocket.”
