Round Silence: Wolfgang Haffner Trio – Jazz Concert. Wolfgang Haffner is no stranger to Bangalore, having drummed up a firm fan following at the Inauguration of the Bhavan’s new building in 2005, along with Charlie Mariano, and at Chowdiah Memorial Hall during the Bengaluru Habba in 2006. We are delighted to welcome him and his band to Bangalore once again! Having worked with numerous musicians from all over the world during the last two and a half decades Haffner, as a percussionist and drummer has played himself to the front rows of the international music scene.
His discography as drummer includes more than 400 records though he gained recognition as a bandleader and composer as well. For the first time in 2007, Wolfgang Haffner went on tour in Germany with his trio ‘Acoustic Shapes’. Ever since, this trio has played sold out concerts all over Europe. In June 2009, Haffner received the German Jazz Award for his Album ‘Shapes’. On the tour ‘Round Silence’ 2009/2010 Haffner presents his album ‘Round Silence’ in Asia and Europe. Performing in the excellent company of the Swedish bassist Lars Danielsson and German pianist Hubert Nuss, Haffner had various guest stars like Kim Sanders, Chuck Loeb, Dominic Miller and Nils Landgren refining the album, whose eleven songs were composed by Haffner himself.
