MUMBAI: RED FM’s recently launched platform for independent music, RED Indies not only has some impressive names like Malishka, Darshan Raval, Arjun Kanungo, Prakriti Kakar and Sukriti Kakar, but also has a kick-ass marketing strategy to commence the indie journey on radio.

Speaking about the marketing strategy, RED FM spokesperson said, “It is going to be a regular marketing stunt, we do for all our protégés. Red Indies is more of a special property than the regular shows which are aired on RED FM. But since it is an independent music platform, we will be tying up with leading newspapers, then we might go for some signals in the city. Digital, as we know, is going to go all out, but as far as the traditional marketing strategy is considered, yes, there would be Bing partners, outdoor partners and a few gimmicks that we would want to have with the help of other vehicles like auto rickshaws, taxis. The print ads will also be there, hoarding also. So, we are going to make it a little bigger than the usual stuff.”
He further revealed, “We also have a tie up with a national music channels. on which, our secondary promotion will go, thus giving us we a national presence. In a way, as far as marketing is concerned, marketing plus digital is going to be a good buzz.
“This is a new kind of property that any radio station has ever launched till now and revenue will be that independent zone, we would approach from a different perspective altogether. So, other than the traditional marketing, we will try to come up with maximum as possible.
Lastly, on being quizzed on the financial investment and brand involved, the spokesperson concluded, “It depends as initially we are treating it as a brand campaign because it is an individual property, a radio station has. But, going further, when the client is interested in associating with this particular property and if our brand preposition goes along with their ideologies, we will definitely try and do some tie-ups. If somebody wants to spend on the station, they are always welcome.”
