Radio Mirchi rocked Ahmedabad with Salaam 68

MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi, India’s leading radio station, celebrated 68 years of India’s Independence in its own Mirchidaar style. In a unique initiative called Salaam 68, the station rocked Ahmedabad by setting a stage for Gujarat’s 68 renowned singers. It was truly a musical salute to India.

First time ever, supremely talented artists like Praful Dave, Saumil-Shyamal-Aarti Munshi, Bankim Pathak, Daksha Gohil, Sanjay Oza, Devang Patel, Aniket Khandekar, Arvind Vegda, Niraj Pathak, Darshana Gandhi, Bhumik Shah, Hilpan Shah, Dr. Parth Oza, Kosha Pandya, Sanket Khandekar, Rahul Munjaria and Dhvanit along with other young performers shared the stage.

Praful Dave sang his trademark, laagyo kasumbi no rang. The terrific trio of Shayaml-Saumil and Aarti spread the magic with a medley of Gujarati sugam sangeet. Arvind Vegda with his famous Bhai-Bhai made the crowd dance.

Devang Patel in his own style entertained with Áme chhaiye re Gujarati. Sanjay Oza and Dr. Parth Oza presented a medley of gujarti-english-bollywood all in one!’ Aniket Khandekar presented patriotic song with Indian Classical Music renditions. Bankim Pathak presented Patriotic Rafi songs in his inimitable style. Daksha Gohel came up with the song originally sung by Lataji Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon’ that had brought tears to Jawaharlal Nehru when he heard it for the first time. RJ Dhvanit and Bhumik sang patriotic songs with the audience dancing along. Sanket Khandekar and Rahul Munjaria were the backbone of the concert with their musicians

Event was hosted by Radio Mirchi’s popular RJ Dhvanit, RJ Megha, RJ Kunal and RJ Ekta. Throughout the show they enthralled the audience with their witty humour.

Dignitaries of the city were present at the event and they were thrilled to see all these big names perform together on one stage for the first time in the history of Gujarati Music Industry.
