MUMBAI: It’s that time of the year again where the atmosphere is filled with the chants of “Morya re…Bappa Morya re…” Echoing the sound of the festival, Radio City 91.1 FM hails in ‘Ganeshotsav’ with celebrations across cities.
Year after year we witness hordes of people flocking at various pandals across the city to get Lord Ganesha’s blessings. People tirelessly wait for hours to get the well-deserved darshan. People would love to be free of this jostling and have the privilege of getting the VIP passes for Lord Ganesa’s darshan; and that is exactly what Radio City has in store for its listeners.
For the second consecutive year, Radio City has partnered up exclusively with ‘Shri Siddhivinayak Temple’ in Mumbai for a chance which everyone would love to have! Exclusive VIP passes for our listeners in order to skip the long tiring queues and head straight to be blessed by Lord Ganesha himself!

Listeners who give correct answers a simple qualifier question related to Lord Ganesha will be treated to a hassle free darshan. That’s not all, Radio City will make sure that no one plays around with the Lord. For the same, Radio City 91.1 FM will be appointing Ganpati Guards who will make sure that no songs are played which play with the sentiments of the festival. If any one feels that a pandal is playing songs which are taking down the meaning of the festival all they need to do is call our RJs who will reach the respective pandal and hand out CD’s filled with devotional songs, which will help in getting the meaning of the festival back on track!
On the other hand, Radio City Smaran will ensure listeners don’t miss the Ganesh aarti, as there will be streaming of all the aartis and the darshans. All through the 10 days of the festival, Radio City will bring to you the ‘Kakad Aarti’ (morning – 5.30 a.m.) and evening aarti (7.30 p.m.) from Shri Siddhivinayak temple.
Radio City Pune will also bring to you live updates from the 2 biggest Ganpati pandals in Pune- Dagdu Sheth and Kasba Ganpati. Radio City RJ’s will be visiting societies in Pune to join in the Ganesh aarti. There will be an attempt to be etched in record books as in Pune, there will be an attempt to create the largest modak out of recycled waste!!
