With this event we celebrate the power of music as the healing force that promotes cross-cultural understanding, and remind people of all cultures and religions that we share a common humanity.

DAY 1
Midival Punditz: Gaurav Raina and Tapan Raj

Since their Six Degrees Records debut in 2002, Midival Punditz-the first Indian electronica band to hit the international scene-has ushered in a new era of possibilities for the sound of 21st century India. Their innovative and expansive artistic vision marries the soulful elegance of South Asia’s extraordinarily rich traditional music heritage with the exuberance and limitless potential of modern Western electronic music.

Spearheaded by Gaurav Raina and Tapan Raj, their electronic tracks have been featured internationally in over 50 compilations including Hollywood & Bollywood films, video games and international TV series. They have collaborated with popular artistes like Karsh Kale, Bill Lasswell, and performed with greats like Zakir Hussain and Sultan Khan in some of the most prestigious international festivals. Recently the duo teamed up with Karsh Kale as music directors for the Hindi film Soundtrack.

Having toured all over the world, their live act is electronic, yet live and creative with on-stage jamming, innovating and remixing. The Punditz have pioneered a unique live setup that sets apart their presentation from other electronic acts. The performance features a video background which is synchronized with the music and captures real-time images and clips of the band performing on stage, offering a matchless experience to the audiences.
