about – One Night Stand
One Night Stand was formed in May 2003 as a result of a chain mail sent by MTV looking out for professional rock musicians who could be part of a classic rock jam session for a particular event. An enthusiastic set of responses was followed by a quick short listing (by leader and vocalist Kartik Chintamani) and the rehearsals kicked off. The gig was well received with an overwhelming response. Aimed to be a One Night Stand in its true sense, the band had no intentions of doing anything together seriously. But after the gig everyone in the band realized the potential and decided to carry this effort forward. Since every member was already a professional musician and also had been part of earlier rock bands from various parts of the country, the sound was always tight and the vibes on stage were fantastic.
The band performed at the IRON MAIDEN – FLIGHT 666 Promo Night on 27th April 2009 at Firangi Paani, Andheri, Mumbai. The band since 1991 has participated and won in major rock competitions. Apart from this, the band has performed all around India including the I-Rock, Rock against Drugs festivals in the city. The band also opened for Apache Indian in his 4-city tour of India and has also opened for the New Zealand rock band Supergroove. As One Night Stand, the band has performed at the YPO festival in Goa that was attended by India’s leading businessmen including Dr. Vijay Mallya, Anil & Mukesh Ambani, Rajdeep Sardesai, Gautam Singhania etc. One Night Stand also plays regularly at Not Just Jazz By The Bay in Mumbai.
