MUMBAI: Music maestro AR Rahman’s performance at Wembley Stadium in London led to a language war as the concert goers claimed that the singer-composer performed on more Tamil songs than Hindi. There were also reports that many of these concert attends walked out of the stadium mid way. The entire fiasco led to Rahman being trolled on Twitter last week.
After maintaining a dignified silence, the Kun Faya Kun hitmaker in a media statement today thanked and showed gratitude for the ones who’ve supported him through this concert aftermath.
Amongst many who spoke in support of the singer-composer, a name is being added. This man is none other than Udi Udi Jaye singer, Sukhwinder Singh.
Singh stated, “First of all I don’t find any wrong in singing Tamil songs. He must have tried something different. Before he could do anything people walked off which is not nice. It is not the first time he has sung Tamil songs, I have also sung one Tamil song being a Punjabi called Love Pannaa Therinchaa Nee Lucky with him. I think I should have been there.”
Though there have been claims of the entire concert being built upon his Tamil renditions the event coordinater Enthil Velan in a media statement, clearly pointed that, the concert had 165 Hindi songs and a medley with Hindi parts. He also mentioned that there were just 12 Tamil songs.
