MUMBAI: Known as “one of Canada’s most revered folk poets and singers” (Toronto Star), Scottish-born musician David Francey will be performing this summer at Cain Park’s Evans Amphitheater on June 19. This concert will feature songs from his most recent CD, So Say We All, which has been nominated for a Juno Award.
Tickets for the performance, which begins at 8pm, are $15 in advance and $18 the day of the show; they can be purchased at Ticketmaster (800-745-3000) or the Cain Park ticket office (216-371-3000) as of 31 May. Cain Park is located at Lee Road and Superior Road in Cleveland Heights.
David Francey began writing songs while he was still working as a carpenter, but was encouraged by his wife, artist Beth Girdler, to pursue a musical career. Since debuting with his first album, Torn Screen Door, in 1999, he has won the JUNO Award for Best Roots and Traditional Album three times. Francey has also received Songwriter of the Year at the 2014 Canadian Folk Music Awards.
