Hourglass Inversion Announces New Drummer

MUMBAI: Pune based alternative rock band Hourglass Inversion has announced a new drummer, Arka Das. Arka has over 17 years of experience as a drummer. He has previously performed with various indie acts in Calcutta and Pune including Sweet Leaf, Easy Riders, Ganga Groove, Five Little Indians, Span, Ganesh Talkies.

Recently, Hourglass Inversion was in the news for releasing their version of Vande Mataram, with their previous drummer Amit Godse. Their rendition of this patriotic track is unique because it merges alternative rock with classical elements, infusing new energy in the track that captures the youthful exuberance of our country.

Hourglass Inversion consists of Amit Khadikar (guitarist), Rohit Vasudevan (vocalist), Hemant Aligi (bassist) and Arka Das (drummer). The band formed in 2008 and they released their debut EP titled Our Time is Now in 2011. They have performed in Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolhapur and Kanpur as well as in the studios of Radio City, Chennai Live and Fever FM. They won Hard Rock Rising 2013 Regional Battles and went on to represent India on the Global stage, Battle of the Bands in Pune of 2012, and were among the Top 15 in Channel V Launchpad earlier in 2009. Last year they were the only band to play at an IPL match in Pune, opening to a crowd of 40,000 people at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium.
