MUMBAI: Ultra Soulflyp, a series of events that celebrate culture and community, comes to life with a four-city launch tour featuring gqom king DJ Lag and urban jazz pioneer IAMDBB and supported by Indian acts in Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Goa later this month.
Designed to build a social movement enriched by musical experiences and to mobilise community, Ultra Soulflyp’s calling card will be its focus on tech-led immersive experiences soundtracked by new, creative and exciting dance music genres.
In a space saturated with events, this new music events series will seek to stand out with its curation of sounds and styles from around the world that are on the edge of familiar, and offer a truly immersive celebration of culture and community.
Curated and executed in collaboration between leading music events agencies Wild City and Gently Altered, Ultra Soulflyp will travel to multiple cities across India all through the year.

Ultra Soulflyp launch tour – Bangalore, Mumbai, New Delhi and Goa
Durban’s DJ Lag is a pioneer of the world-conquering South African dance music genre gqom, whose heaving, powerful sounds can be heard at festivals, in clubs around the world, and even on Disney soundtracks.
IAMDDB, the Manchester-based singer, rapper and fashion designer, has a cult following for her deliciously compelling sound that she describes as ‘urban jazz’, a cheeky mix of trap, jazz, soul and hip-hop.
Supporting these two bonafide, genre-defining artists will be a bevy of Indian acts like Bangalore-based DJ and an avid curator of music, ‘rasa’ in the Garden City on February 17; genre switcher DJ and producer Sickflip and up-and-coming DJ, Nariki in Mumbai on February 18; Delhi’s Lush Lata, who recently became the first Indian female to DJ at Berlin’s Berghain, on February 24 in the Capital; and Goa residents and DJs Discokid and Electroson on February 25.

Ultra Soulflyp’s series of launch events across India in February offer a taste of what the music IP has in store for music fans through the year. Its focus on technology-led immersive experiences will also seek to highlight talent – local and international – and offer opportunities to young creatives and designers whose ideas navigate multiple disciplines and artforms.
