MUMBAI: Universal Music Group India and South Asia MD and CEO Devraj Sanyal has always stood for Independent music that our budding talent have put forth. His posts on social media reveal that Sanyal has got musical ears where he stands by every music that touches his soul.
It was the recent trending song, Hawa Banke, sung by indie hero Darshan Raval that made Sanyal vouch for independent artists.
His Instagram post read, “ Universal Music Group India and South Asia MD and CEO Devraj Sanyal said, “We stand for #nonfilmmusic & we’ve been striving to create a brand new market for artists who want to sing their own songs and have themselves in their video assets and not be a little mention on a film poster. But I’ve gotta give chops to artists from other labels and sublabels who’ve been doing a stellar job at it cos it’s only when everyone comes together will we achieve the dream of a true free marketplace not dominated by one form of music but music based on choice of the consumer.”
“So give it up for our little brother @darshanravaldzwho I adore and as does half the nation for his amazing voice, composition and ability to draw his fans in with his warmth of his music & voice. Go check out his latest #HawaBanke and go show it some love. @naushadepositive@vinitthakkar,” he exclaimed while praising Darshan Raval.
Such an enthusiasm from a CEO of label that supports indie music is quite encouraging!
