A film against an army background comes loaded with expectations of a lot of tough inspirational songs but with Adnan Sami composing, this album comes as a little surprise. The six-track album, fortunately, has no remixes.
It begins with Dheere Dheere, sung by Adnan Sami and Sunidhi Chauhan. This romantic track is a very smooth flowing number with Adnan and Sunidhi sounding mesmerising all through. The beats of the track are in good sync with the lyrics making the whole song a blissful listening experience. This melodious track will definitely conquer the listener, craving to be heard again. But if you look closely, it’s a typical romantic track that is Adnan Sami’s trademark composition.
Abhijeet and Udit Narayan are paired for the next track titled Dosti Kya Hai. This sounds like a very situational track and probably the reason why the voices sound a little submissive. The lyrics are about companionship and also include nuances of assuring a friend of good friendship. This is a highly sentimental song which turns out to be a good track against a brilliant background score. The vocals of both, Adhijeet and Udit are completely contemporary which kind of show the modern way of singing a friendship tune with retro beats to accompany the blend in the vocals. All in all, a good track to listen to.
Adnan Sami once again clubs up with Sunidhi Chauhan for the track titled Ghabra Ke Dar Dar Ke. Although the title makes the song sound serious, it is a peppy, dance track with lots of hip hop and disco beats in it. Sunidhi Chauhan has mastered the art of singing peppy tracks and she once does full justice to this track. Adnan Sami’s vocals are meant more for the groovy beats than for mainstream singing. This track gets a little heavy towards the end owing to its heavy musical beats and music mix.
Next is a solo track by Sunidhi Chauhan titled Jaane Kyon Jaaneman. Set against a disco-like background, this club track is a typical Sunidhi track, who uses her seductive voice to perfection. This sounds very much like the music of Mumbai Salsa, or rather a song for a film belonging to that genre. It includes heavy beats which in a way ruin the mood of the song. Not a track which will earn public appreciation.
Next follows the title track which is a solo song sung by Kunal Ganjawala. This is one track very high on its music. Kunal Ganjawala sings with a lot of attitude adding to the feel of the song. The lyrics are beautifully written, laying equal emphasis on the bravery (literally, Shaurya) related to life, career, relationships, work and outlook. The song also has some touching moments and this reminds of the song Sandese Aate Hain from the film Border. Once again, the background score is brilliantly worked on and will take this song ahead.
The last track is Shaurya Kya Hai by Shah Rukh Khan. This is in true terms a song that makes the listener reflect and do a reality check. This track sounds more like a recitation than a song and highly reminds of the track Sattar minutes from Chak De India.
The songs are very well composed with some of them being highly appealing in nature. However, owing to bad marketing, the songs don’t seem to be catching up with the audiences the way they should be. Nevertheless, a great effort by Adnan Sami at composing the music.
