Songs like â€?Who Says,’ â€?Middle of Nowhere’ and â€?We Own the Night’ is an enjoyable uplifting straightforward pop track with some polished techno-tunes and simple guitar notes. The lyrics suit a typical chick flick which deals with all sorts of teen trouble and caters to the younger generation.
Selena has tried to break her pop diva image and has experimented with the electro-disco ditties like ‘Bang Bang Bang’, ‘Outlaw’ and ‘When the Sun Goes Down’.

Other songs of the album â€?That’s More like It’ co-written by Katy Perry features her signature style of girl-power lyrics with Selena’s vocals to add in it whereas â€?My Dilemma’ is a breathy, dance floor song with Selena’s auto-tuned vocals highlighting the influence of Katy Perry. The album ends with a bilingual Spanish track â€?Dices,’ beautifully translated into different language without skipping any beat or the energy.
Overall, the album is a mixture of good and average tracks. Through this album Selena has dared to explore other genre leaving her pop-diva image behind, which is quiet admiring.
