Music Director – Rajesh Roshan

Director – Jaideep Sen

Krazzy 4 is yet another comedy flick which doesn’t necessarily have good, path breaking music. Produced by Rakesh Roshan, this film boasts celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and even Rakhi Sawant, featuring in one song each.

Sung by Vishal Dadlani, the album begins with the song Break Free written by Asif Ali Beg. The track is classy in orientation with good use of vocals and techno sound effects. The lyrics are simple to grasp and a have a young feel to them. The song has been picturised on Shah Rukh and has already become a crowd puller, what really seems perfect about it is the blend of various music genres like electronica, hip hop and pop.

The next track, Break Free remix is also quite a party song with fast paced beats and good after effects. This remix by DJ Aqeel will definitely go on for a long time on the party circuit and help in promoting the movie further.

Dekhta Hai Tu Kya, sung by Kiri Sagathia and Sunidhi Chauhan, follows next. Penned by Javed Akhtar, this track comes as a slight surprise to the listener owing to some confusing words which sound silly, more so because they have apparently flowed from the esteemed pen of Javed Akhtar. The music nevertheless is brilliant, with Indian with proper tabla and matka sounds in the background. Adding to the mood are comments like ‘Oh meri Jhumri Talaiya’ which might however sound annoying to some discerning listeners. The remix version of this song is a little disappointing as the fast pace and over use of instruments takes away the essence of the Indian touch from the song.

A multi singer track by Bhavin Dhanak, Jimmy Moses, Kiri Sagathia, Labh Janjua and Rahul Vaidya is titled Ik Rupaiya and promises to be full-on hilarious, as the name suggests. The track is only about money and loans, loaded with spontaneous-sounding humorous takes and a lot of craziness. This track in true terms is a Krazzy song. This song also has Irfan Khan and Arshad Warsi trying their hand at vocals which of course, is entertaining.

Ankita Sachdev’s Jan Gan Man follows next. Penned by Javed Akhtar, this track is a very grave version of the national anthem. The song is beautifully composed with Ankita’s voice sounding flawless all through.

Moving ahead is Krazzy 4 – the title track sung by Vishal Dadlani and written by Asif Ali Beg. This song sounds more or less very similar to Break Free. The track is very trendy but shorter than Break Free. The melody is such that it will stay on in the minds of the listener long after it ends. All in all, a good composition with respect to the central idea of the film. The remix version is a very good promotional song and can be used effectively for marketing the movie as well.

The last track is O Re Lakad sung by Kailash Kher, Neeraj Shridhar and Sowmya Raoh. The song sounds like it has been composed during the late 1970s. It has a good melody and is a very rational sounding track. The lyrics by Javed Akhtar stand out brilliantly adding value to the vocals of Kailash, Neeraj and Sowmya. Although the song is a good composition, it may not really work well with the present day audience.

This album is a good mix of some great and some not-so-great tracks. But except for a track or two, the music of the album cannot stay with the listener for long which is why the music has failed at making a mark and thus, proving itself.
