Director Sudhir Mishra critically acclaimed for films like Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Dharavi and Chameli, has come up with his new movie ‘Inkaar’. Lead actors of Inkaar include Arjun Rampal and Chitrangada Singh. The movie is slated to release on 18 January 2013.
Music composer Moitra and lyricist Kirkire who have given some wonderful tracks in the past for movies like 3 Idiots, Parineeta and Munna Bhai series, now have coupled up for Inkaar. The soundtrack compromises of five tracks that are created keeping the storyline of the movie in mind.
The album begins with Darmiyaan, lyricist-singer Swanand Kirkire giving his vocals. Kirikire’s husky act had a rough finish but that was the essence of this track. Kiss of traditional qawwali’and sufi-soft rock made it striking to ear. The track has really nice lyrics and the music by Shantanu Moitra is one of the clean blends.
If you feel that you didn’t have enough of Kirikire’s vocals then you get to hear him in the next track ‘ Maula Tu Malik Hai’, much to your surprise you could even hear the music composer Shantanu Moitra pours his heart out. Like the earlier track, this one also has a sufi, qawwali and rock. The patterns adopted to tease the listener by pulling few rhythmic strings gives quiet a meaning to the lyrics. Lyrics are also catchy.
The next track Zindagi Ka Karobar has a strong presence of guitar in some bit which sounded bit uninteresting. It is sung by K Mohan, the lead singer of famous rock band Agnee. Mohan has sung the song in a bit dramatic way which suits well with the music accompanying the lyrics.
Rock again but this time it hard rock for the soundtrack ‘Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai’. It’s sung by Suraj Jagan. Hard rock lovers surely cannot miss this one. Vocals and the composition are really strong. It is one of those tunes that get your heart racing. Guitar performance is placed at a point that compliments the track and lyrics.
Last track is ‘Inkaar Theme’ has no lyrics but just few humming here and there along with lovely soft backup given by Monali Thakur. Lovely blend of music that surely doesn’t need lyrics as the music is mesmerizing.
All the soundtrack is so strongly developed keeping the movie in mind and the soft and hard rock is really appealing. Hopefully, there will be some track that will hit a chord among the audience.
