Lamba’s Fukrey the upcoming comedy film that had its music launch in a very creative way as the stars of the film- Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Ali Fazal and Varun, the official Fukras in the film arrived riding horses in a college in New Delhi. Producers of the film Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani did not shy away from ridding the bicycles. All this sums up to the theme of the film that is based on youth partnered with energy and fun. The music of the film is created by Sampath and the album comprises of six original tracks.
The first track is the energetic track ‘Fuk Fuk Fukrey’ rendered by Bagadwa and Sampath. The back vocals in the track are given by Divecha and Chavan. The lyrics are completely youth oriented. Script writer-lyricist Vig has penned the funny and naughty lyrics. Sampath has really worked smart with the music by providing the electronic touch in between and also a section of music that can be related to music styles used in state of Gujarat.
‘Beda Paar’ is another energetic track focused on the dilemma of youth. Singh’s part of the track is so much of ideas and dreams about youth but Malik comes in picture to break the bubble and remind that everything is just illusion. Enjoy the track and lyrics as it a story of many youths and the world of illusion they live in.
‘Lag Gayi Lottery’ pumps up the energy and the bass, snapping and talking and the back vocals is the beauty of the track. Back vocals are given by Majumder, Cabral, Mascarenhas and Pinto who have done a fabulous job in enhancing the voice of Sampath. The combination of Hindi and English lyrics is the catch of the track.
Kher starts the track ‘Karle Jugaad Karle’ in a serious way but the lyrics are hilarious. Qawwali style used in the track is catchy and it suits Kher’s vocals as well. Comical lyrics are penned by Dhiman and the serious touch by Kher gives a sarcastic feel to the track.
Sampath renders ‘Rabba’, the next track. His voice didn’t suit this track as it needed more crude voice but the music and lyrics are interesting. The music is energetic but the strength in the voice is lacking. Sampath slows the pace of the track which is interesting in the start but using the style in the end killed the appeal of the track somewhere.
‘Ambarsariya’ is the last track sung by Mohapatra. Lovely track based on Punjabi lyrics along with Hindi lines penned by Dhiman. It’s really a beautiful track and Mohapatra’s vocals have enhanced the depth and meaning of the track.
All in all, the album is energetic accompanied with the funny lyrics and interesting set of youth oriented music and lyrics. Don’t miss ‘Lag Gayi Lottery’ and Kher’s ‘Karle Jugaad Karle’, the tracks are very interesting and must hear for college students who are not sure how to deal with every day issues of personal relations, education and career. Sampath has failed in delivering quality music but has done a brilliant job by selecting the right voices who have saved the album.
