Whether you are running, weight lifting, or doing yoga, Spring Moves boosts your workout motivation. The app uses music and technology to help people realise their full athletic potential.
Spring Moves is a personalised workout radio that matches musical beat to your cadence in order to create a unique, musically-paced workout program. The company’s mission is to make exercise feel less effortful and more enjoyable using music. Its iOS app first launched in 2014 prompts users to specify their athletic activity and then set the ideal cadence for their workout. Spring Moves realized that many of its users did not want to take the time to personalize their playlists — they just wanted to hit ‘play’ and go. Spring Moves created the Playlist feature to support a broader range of activities and preferences.
Playlists relies less on algorithms and data, and more on human curation. Users choose from a selection of 20 playlists, such as ‘Power Walking on Sunshine,’ ‘Yoga Flow,’ or ‘Spin City Remixed,’ stream those songs as they work out, and can provide active feedback about what they like or dislike.

In addition, a recent study showed that time to exhaustion was 18 per cent longer in treadmill runners listening to synchronous music when compared to no music at all. In addition, two studies conducted with walkers and runners showed that music/movement synchronicity increased endurance by up to 15 per cent when measuring Perceived Rate of Exertion.
