MUMBAI: Dutch duo Silque have been burning a path through the house music scene with excellent releases on Toolroom Records, Shomi and more recently killer remixes of Martin Garrix feat. Khalid’s Ocean and Matisse and Sadko’s feat. Hanne Mjøen’s Into You for STMPD RCRDS. Now they land on STMPD with an absolutely killer original that’s oozing class and groove.
This big bold slice of summer house music recalls classics of the genres with its beautiful piano chords unfolding over bubbling bass and hip-shaking bass. A well-deployed female vocal adds a little drama, and the uncluttered arrangement works so well thanks to the slick production aesthetic.
It’s been a big summer for this rising duo, playing alongside Garrix at Ushuaïa Ibiza and at festivals including seventh Sunday Festival and We Are Electric. With more dates left to come this season at Lief Festival, Dream Village, HRFST Festival, Summerlake Festival and Festyland, their summer is far from over. Expect to hear this one creeping into the sets of many A-list DJs in the coming weeks.
