MUMBAI: BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show host, Nick Grimshaw, announced the return of BBC Radio 1’s Teen Awards in 2015 – with the event, which honours the UK’s unsung teenage heroes as well as the year’s best music, online, sport and entertainment stars, due to take place at London’s SSE Arena, Wembley on Sunday 8 November (3-5pm), featuring a star-studded line-up of pop acts, including 5 Seconds of Summer and Little Mix.
The line-up for the event – now in its sixth year – also includes Little Mix, Nick Jonas and All Time Low, and was revealed live on air this morning, with 5 Seconds of Summer dropping into The Radio 1 Breakfast Show to make the announcement. The foursome also performed their brand new single Hey Everybody in Radio 1’s Live Lounge, along with their cover of Drown by Bring Me The Horizon.
Nick Grimshaw will present the event, and will be joined throughout the ceremony by some special co-hosts.

Radio 1’s Teen Awards is one of the biggest events in the pop music calendar, with an audience of more than 9,000 14-17 year-olds and the recognition of three very special Teen Heroes is at the heart of the event. Nominated by Radio 1 listeners, the deserving winners in 2015 will be chosen by a panel of judges consisting of Radio 1 DJs and former Teen Heroes.
Celebrity winners will also be crowned for Best British Solo Artist, Best British Group, Best British Vlogger, Best British TV Show, and Best Film, as voted by Radio 1 listeners, and presented by special surprise guests. In conjunction with CBBC, there will also be a Friday Download Best British Single award.

Little Mix say: “We literally can’t wait, it’s been three years since we last performed at the Teen Awards – it was the first time we performed DNA and we loved it but we were so nervous, we were terrified. Teenagers are always good because they are always up for it, you can expect lots of dancing and lots of harmonies.”
Nick Grimshaw says: “The Teen Awards are the loudest awards I have ever been to and I know 2015 is gonna be the best ever.”

Tickets for Radio 1’s Teen Awards will be available from 6.05 pm on 14 October and will cost £10 plus booking fee – a minimum of two tickets and a maximum of four tickets may be purchased in one transaction. The event is open to 14-17 year-olds.
Radio 1 will be bringing listeners all of the fun on Sunday 8 November – the ceremony will be broadcast live on air, and will be on CBBC straight afterwards, while Cel Spellman will provide the Teen Awards after party, broadcasting his 5-7 pm show live from the venue. Radio 1’s Teen Awards will also be live streamed on the Radio 1, and will be available to watch in full on Radio 1’s BBC iPlayer channel, with highlights on Radio 1’s YouTube channel.
