MUMBAI: RMEC is a collaborative music venture by Rahul Misra that seeks to work on at myriad thematic explorations. Rahul Misra is a vocalist/writer currently living in New Delhi, India. He heads the eponymous music venture, Rahul Misra Enquiry Commission (RMEC), a medium to take his music to live and online audiences. His first album is titled ‘Conflict of Interest’, and is now available on all major digital platforms. The music is best described as experimental rock, with influences from alternative, progressive, new wave and punk music.
Having started his musical journey in the New Delhi circuit back in 2004, Rahul spent a better part of the last decade in England pursuing a corporate career, music and adulthood. London saw him balance a job in finance, with vocalist and bassist duties in Alt Rock outfit ‘Slow Motion Frenzy’. Over time he felt the pull and push to explore music and writing more deeply. In 2016 he moved back to Delhi. This is when work on his first album took shape, and RMEC was formed. Through RMEC, Rahul aims to collaborate with musicians and visual artists to tap into different thematic explorations. The first album was written and performed in studio by Rahul Misra. It was produced by Anirudh Subramaniam, and featured artwork by Haang Samyuk.
RMEC and talented live line up is rounded off by New Delhi scenesters Anirudh Subramaniam (backing vocals, guitars), Harshit Misra (bass) and Aveleon Giles Vaz (drums).

The thread tying the album together is a central character, ‘the Individual’. This character is naturally a version of myself, but it also transcends me. The Individual questions, analyses, sometimes ridicules and invariably strives to go beyond the Inner and outer conflicts he perceives. ‘Conflict of Interest’ is a thematic examination of the Individual’s relation to the world, and his perennial need for freedom.

Conflict of Interest (Interval): designed to be the half-way break for the listener, this is an uplifting instrumental track, with an acoustic/soft rock feel.
Natural Suicide: One of the darker themes explored in the album, this one examines our need to destroy ourselves before creation can happen. The song builds up from an acoustic-based sound to a heavier environment towards the end.
