MUMBAI: India’s favourite radio station, Radio Mirchi FM has set the stage for the most glamorous event of the year, by hosting the grand jury meet of 7th Royal Stag Mirchi Music Awards. The eminent Jury members met today to adjudge the winners across various categories.
In its 7th year, the award ceremony will be themed around Seven Sins and will celebrate the 7 years of sinful musicality.
Announcing the 7th Royal Stag Mirchi Music Awards, ENIL COO Mahesh Shetty said, “We are really humbled by the success that Mirchi Music Awards has attained over the years. Thanks to the jury members who have stood by us and made sure the best music talent is recognised and honoured year after year. We look forward to hosting and entertaining our fans this year as well.”

Talking on her association, jury chairperson Kavita Krishnamurthy said, “I would like to thank Radio Mirchi for doing this wonderful job of recoginising musicians, singers and artists. So far in the celluloid only the actors were honoured, finally, there is a recoginition for the musicians as well. The esteemed jury comprises of stalwarts like Subhashji, Rameshji to the modern day music directors and hence the judgement is accurate and a lot of time is spent on it I hope we continue it forwards and give artists the respect they deserve.”
Irshad Kamil commented, “Mirchi Music Awards is a spectacular effort by Radio Mirchi. This year the selection process was more streamlined. We have been very patient in listening to all nominated song and then made our decisions. The Jury includes some of the most experienced professional and the judgement is fair and accurate.”
Ila Arun said, “I have been part of Mirchi Music Awards for many years – it has always been a pleasure be a part of the jury. It gives us an opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate so many new talents. This year we saw so many new talents and it was a very tough decision to pick one winner in each category.”
The eminent jury members comprising of Kavita Krishnamurthy (Jury Chairperson), Prasoon Joshi, Sameer Anjaan, Irshad Kamil, Ramesh Sippy, Subhash Ghai, Sudhir Mishra, Madhur Bhandarkar, Anu Malik, Shankar Mahadevan, Lalit Pandit, Louiz Banks, Suresh Wadkar, Shailendra Singh, Talat Aziz, Alka Yagnik, Sadhana Sargam, Saapna Mukerji, Ila Arun, Pritam, Hariharan, Milind Srivastava, Pankaj Udhas, Anuradha Paudwal, Himesh Reshammiya, Sulaiman Merchant, Udit Narayan, Raju Singh, Bappi Lahiri, Roop Kumar Rathod & Aadesh Srivastava, met today in Mumbai to finalise the nomination and decide on the winners. 7th Royal Stag Mirchi Music Awards will culminate at Yash Raj Studio in Mumbai on 26th February.
