MUMBAI: Karbonn Smart MTV Bloc Party is all set to take over Mumbai’s Juhu bloc this weekend. To make the experience better than ever before, MTV has pieced together a horde of exciting activities, installations and signed up 30 of the world’s biggest DJs to make it one crazy party weekend. To bring the experience alive on the digital platform, MTV carried out an exciting digital campaign comprising of various interesting activities.
The activities included a User Generated Content Campaign where MTV asked what DJ Bl3nd could do on his first visit to Mumbai. People were asked to give him tips on touring Mumbai which sent the social media sphere into overdrive. Entries poured in from every corner of the city – from chilling at Marine Drive to Enjoying a Rockshaw Ride – everything was on the agenda for DJ BL3ND and with his trademark mask pasted in crazy locales to boot! Next was a #BlocOutKnockOut challenge where there was one challenge thrown online audiences every day and for this MTV got an overwhelming number of responses. Third was a contest by artist Ankytrixx which is still running now with #TrixxAtTheBloc and the winner gets to play the 1st track with him – you might want to try your luck too! And finally there was activity on Instagram where some fun insta videos of meditation on the Bloc and fashion at the Bloc for revelers to emulate.
To get the party started, MTV also got DJ Naved to create an anthem for this year’s Bloc Party which ranges from an homage to the greats of EDM to a new age sound that embarks on and tries to capture a journey that is BlocParty. Here’s what DJ Nawed had to say about the anthem. “I got the inspiration for this track while listening to Axwell on the main stage at Tomorrowland last year, while everyone else was playing a Kick heavy “Dutch” styled set, Axwell’s set was sublime, it was musical and it was a beautiful melodic journey from start to end, it took quite an effort to even get close to emulating that feeling but I’m very happy with the end result and I can’t wait to play it out at the Bloc Party.”
